Exhaust Repair & Services

The exhaust system is one of your vehicle's most brutal worked systems. It routes harmful fumes away from the engine and passenger cabin, increasing vehicle performance and reducing engine noise. Exhaust leaks can cause your engine to work harder than necessary, reducing fuel efficiency and putting you and your customers at risk of inhalation of hazardous fumes

Our technicians at AutoEdge can perform an exhaust health check on your vehicle to see if all exhaust components are working optimally, including reviews for rust, damage, leakage, gases, and more.

Below are some of the symptoms that can bring exhaust problems to light, and if caught in time, it can ensure a safe driving experience for you, your passengers and the environment.

  • EXCESSIVE ENGINE/EXHAUST NOISE
The most obvious indication that there’s something wrong with your exhaust is excessive noise or a distinct change in the tone of your exhaust. This could be due to a rusted muffler, cracks in the pipe, or a leaking manifold gasket.

  • REDUCED FUEL ECONOMY
Fuel economy is reduced since the engine must work harder when the exhaust fails, causing it to burn more fuel.

  • SLOW ACCELERATION
If you find yourself pushing your foot down further than usual to accelerate, especially on takeoff from a standing start, it can indicate an issue with the exhaust system. Possibly a leak that is not strong enough to emit noise.

  • STENCH OF STRONG GASES
The stench of noxious gases coming from anywhere around your vehicle likely means there is a leak in the pipe before it reaches the catalytic converter or the catalytic converter itself is damaged.

  • BANGING OR KNOCKING SOUND BENEATH THE VEHICLE
If you hear a banging or knocking sound beneath your car, it could be that one of the exhaust mounts has come loose or even a sign of a broken pipe.

  • RUST CAUSED BY CONDENSATION
Mufflers and tailpipes are prone to rust due to condensation build-up. Each time the car is run, everything heats up. As the exhaust system cools down when the car is not in use, it can attract moisture, and condensation builds up.

  • ENGINE IS MISFIRING
A misfiring engine can also indicate your vehicle suffers an exhaust system breakdown. While there could be numerous reasons for a motor to misfire, the exhaust can be the culprit.
